Karen joined the Office of the Auditor General in 2014. Prior to this she worked for more than 15 years in large international accounting firms with a primary focus in auditing private, school board and not-for-profit entities.
Since joining the office, Karen was the engagement leader on the audits of government ministries and agencies including Education, Justice and Solicitor General, Culture and Tourism, the Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation and a number of post-secondary institutions.
Karen received her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1998. She became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta in January 2003. Karen served as a member of the Institute’s Practice Review Committee from 2007 to 2012, serving as chair of the committee in 2012.
