Biography

Brad joined the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) in 1998 and was promoted to the position of Assistant Auditor General in 2010. He is currently responsible for providing audit oversight to the OAG’s Finance and Infrastructure portfolio.

As part of his duties, Brad oversees audits for ATB Financial; Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo); Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis; Credit Union Deposit Guarantee Corporation; Alberta Securities Commission; Alberta Pensions Services Corporation; and all the Alberta public sector pension plans. His work on these projects offers an opportunity to focus on improving the processes that help deliver program and services to Albertans – a key factor in his dedication to the OAG.

Born in Grande Prairie, Alberta, Brad began his post-secondary journey with an accounting career in mind. He received a Bachelor of Commerce degree with distinction from the University of Alberta in 1998 and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta in 2001. Brad is also a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors’ Directors Education Program.

Brad was drawn to public service by the chance to provide taxpayers with the assurance they are getting value for money from their government. His extensive knowledge and experience allow him to provide strong leadership on value for money audits. Driven by the core values of hard work and determination, Brad is committed to helping improve performance and accountability within the public sector. Among his team’s accomplishments is the work they have done on emergency management, delivery of disaster assistance, and flood mitigation.

Brad lives in Edmonton with his spouse and two children. During his free time, he loves to spend time with family, golf, and coach children’s hockey.
